From 20th April to 5th May, 2024, in celebration of the 60th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and France, the young talented designer Shuxuan Guo, under the brand SHUXUAN G., hosted a static exhibition titled “Integration” featuring Oriental Futurism at a classic French-style villa in the Emerald Forest, a prestigious luxury manor in Shanghai. BONAVERI, as a partner, provided SHUXUAN G. with six Schläppi2200 collection mannequins to display the designer’s latest fashion collection.
Shuxuan Guo’s designs blend Oriental elegance with French romance, embodying an Oriental philosophy that embraces all things, akin to the vastness of the ocean, through the integration of diverse cultures.
Drawing inspiration from the Chinese earth mother, Nüwa, and using the Nüwa myth and sun worship as cultural foundations, the collection incorporates radiating line elements from daily objects with Oriental charm, such as “fans,” “umbrellas,” and “screens,” complemented by high-tech fabrics like silk, leather, beads, sequins, and 3D printing, all crafted with meticulous handwork.
The collection explores the relationship between tendons and flesh, skin and soul, in the spirit of ancient Chinese literati, using radiating lines as “bones” and tactile fabrics as “flesh.” This exploration awakens an inner powerful force, symbolizing becoming the sun of one’s own life, aiming to showcase the inner charm of Chinese women, which is both strong and gentle, unrestrained, unbound, and undefined, leading to infinite possibilities of the times.
The exhibition also aims to explore the integration of traditional culture and modern technology, fashion and art, creating timeless high-end art fashion that is not affected by fashion changes and trends. The infinitely extending radioactive lines symbolize the idea of being unbound and unrestricted; it also represents the light that is full of energy, looking inward to find strength, and outward to give energy.
