As ever, Bonaveri remains convinced that creativity, quality and craftsmanship cannot survive without a responsible approach to business. Our commercial objectives recognise our social and environmental responsibilities, and the values embodied in our work are the pillars that sustain our relations with every collaborator.
Our Code of Conduct establishes fundamental, binding rules for our behaviour towards colleagues, business partners and companies in general. These rules must be agreed and respected by all, not only to guarantee the continuity of our work, but also to protect and consolidate the reputation built up by Bonaveri over the years.
The success of our business is founded on the principles of integrity, fairness, propriety and social and environmental responsibility, which together frame the passion evident in our creations.
The Code of Conduct binds each one of us and all those wishing to work with Bonaveri. Accordingly, we trust and expect that our collaborators and, in particular, our suppliers will agree with and accept our general rules of conduct, implementing suitable management systems and business processes that guarantee their application within their own activities and throughout their value chains. Our suppliers acknowledge that we may carry out direct inspections and arrange for audits by third parties, both to check compliance with the established principles and to promote constant improvement.
Infringements that may result in disciplinary measures or penalties are not allowed. Should they occur, Bonaveri reserves the right to review the terms of collaboration and terminate business relations in compliance with the law, even in the absence of a written contract, without prejudice to all other applicable rights and remedies.
The continuity and development of the business and the entire value chain depend on the efforts made by us all; accordingly, we thank everyone who makes their contribution by behaving responsibly.
CODE OF CONDUCT
1. LEGALITY, HONESTY AND PROPRIETY
Working in a lawful manner is a prerequisite.
Bonaveri works in compliance with all current laws, regulations, rules and internal procedures, including this Code of Conduct. The pursuit of our interests cannot, under any circumstances, justify conduct contrary to the principles of propriety and legality. In the context of our business organisation, we work to disseminate awareness of the law, this Code and the procedures designed to prevent the infringement of legal requirements. Similarly, Bonaveri strives to promote proper conduct and rules that safeguard the physical and moral integrity of individuals, as well as the principles of interpersonal harmony.
In the event of differences or contradictions between the Code of Conduct and local regulations, the instructions that require the highest standards will prevail.
2. ANTI-CORRUPTION
Corruption and extortion are not tolerated in any form. Money, favours or any other economic benefits cannot be accepted as a basis for performing work; similarly, gifts or benefits must be examined to ensure that they are appropriate and prevent any type of corruption. Especially when dealing with the public administration, it is essential to ensure that all conduct is compliant with the law. Money laundering and the financing of terrorism are not tolerated in any form.
3. INTEGRITY, TRANSPARENCY, FAIRNESS AND GOOD FAITH
In our relations with collaborators and all third parties, Bonaveri strives to communicate in the clearest and most precise manner, avoiding the dissemination of misleading information or behaviour towards third parties that benefits unduly from their weaknesses.
The business maintains balanced and reliable relations with all suppliers, selected using objective and transparent criteria, and respects the principles of free and fair competition.
Relations are and must continue to be founded on good faith and reliability and, therefore, on respect for agreements, promises and understandings, on enhancement of the business as a whole, and on the pursuit of good faith in every decision made.
4. RESPECT FOR HUMAN RIGHTS AND EQUAL OPPORTUNITIES
Bonaveri respects the dignity of each person, condemns any conduct intended to restrict or erode their human rights and does not tolerate intimidation or offensive behaviour. The business recognises diversity as a value and seeks to facilitate equal opportunities, promoting the conditions for achieving them. This includes fair remuneration, regardless of the country in which the service is provided.
5. NO DISCRIMINATION
Bonaveri condemns all forms of discrimination based on gender, religion, race, sexual orientation, political ideas, social context or union membership. All workers have the same rights regardless of the above and work-related decisions must not be discriminatory.
6. NO CHILD OR FORCED LABOUR
Bonaveri opposes the exploitation of child labour, striving not to sign contracts, and terminating them if necessary, should this form of exploitation be identified or become known. The minimum age of employment is that established by law.
Employment must always be voluntary and, therefore, workers must be free both to accept and leave their jobs.
Forced labour and any other form of slavery that restricts the freedom of workers are unacceptable. Work must be performed in accordance with the relevant current legislation.
7. NO HARASSMENT OR ABUSE
Harassment and physical, verbal or psychological abuse are not tolerated. The dignity of workers must be respected.
8. WORKPLACE SAFETY
The workplace must be healthy and safe in order to reduce hazards and risks, and prevent injuries and occupational diseases. Bonaveri takes all necessary steps to create safe working conditions and ensure compliance with the workplace safety regulations by all workers, providing regular training and disciplining those who break the rules.
Workplace injuries and near misses are routinely reported, recorded and analysed to prevent repetitions.
9. FREEDOM OF ASSOCIATION
Trade union membership is a right. Workers are free to join trade unions without suffering penalties, discrimination or pressure of any kind.
10. ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION
The environment represents wealth to be preserved and protected. Bonaveri promotes research and all initiatives designed to reduce its environmental footprint and that of its customers, working in a proper and transparent manner and selecting all products and suppliers with great care. Bonaveri condemns all forms of greenwashing, which is not tolerated.
11. ENHANCEMENT AND DEVELOPMENT OF HUMAN RESOURCES
Human resources are a core value.
Bonaveri seeks to take good care of its human resources, protecting and promoting their value for the specific purpose of enhancing the worth and competitiveness of the skills possessed by each collaborator.
12. PROTECTION OF PRIVACY, INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY AND CONFIDENTIALITY
All business processes must respect the privacy regulations, adopting standards for the security and protection of the personal data of workers and customers.
Confidential information and trade secrets must be protected and cannot be disclosed to or shared with unauthorised persons.
Bonaveri recognises the value of intellectual property, condemns any conduct intended to prejudice the related rights and, in general, strives to respect the IP of others.
13. REPORTING OF INFRINGEMENTS AND CONCERNS
Workers must be free to express their concerns or report infringements of the Code of Conduct, without being penalised.
This can be done confidentially or anonymously by informing the HR manager or top management.
Infringement of the rules contained in this Code of Conduct might seriously compromise the activities of Bonaveri. Accordingly, all collaborators – whether employees, suppliers, related companies or third parties in general – are requested to make every effort to respect those rules and help anyone who has questions about them.
