A decade ago, BONAVERI, in partnership with Emma Davidge, created the inaugural female mannequin collection under the Schläppi brand.
The Schläppi Collections embody some of the most enduring fashion forms, which have been embraced by fashion houses since the 1960s. Schläppi Collections are characterized by their futuristic, artistic forms. The poses are elegant, statuesque and athletic. BONAVERI continues to innovate, paying homage to the original design aesthetic and ethos. The Aloof collection is one of the latest Schläppi additions. Aloof reflects a strong design DNA through her Schläppi heritage and fashion history. Aloof is a modern, elegant collection that is poised to inspire those who encounter her.
The Schläppi Aloof collection was launched at EuroShop on 16th February, 2014. This event marked the culmination of months of collaborative effort between us and our long-time friend, Emma Davidge, the creative director of Chameleon Visual. We had a significant legacy to uphold; the original Swiss mannequin collections had been a staple for fashion designers and retailers for decades, with their popularity undiminished since the early 1970s. Aloof quickly rose to the ranks of the highly successful Schläppi female collections and remains one of the brand’s most successful series.
Aloof was designed to perpetuate the Schläppi narrative of couture elegance and charm. Aloof had to maintain the core essence of the Schläppi brand while also participate in a very different fashion and retail landscape.
On the 7th April 2014, Fendi features Aloof Collection mannequins in their Avenue Montaigne windows in Paris. This is the first time the world gets to see Aloof in this context, showcasing her amazing style and glamour. On the 1st May Aloof makes another appearance in the Fendi London windows on New Bond Street illustrating a completely new concept and brilliant versatility in the collection. After that, many other luxuries fashion brands have chosen ‘Aloof’.
The collection’s success is evident in its widespread presence worldwide, featured in store displays, galleries, and museum exhibitions. Aloof has been utilized by numerous international fashion houses, including Olivier Theyskens, Max Mara, Fendi, Shanghai Tang, Burberry, Zara, Linea Più, Harrods, and for various exhibitions and events, such as those for Guo Pei, Sam McKnight, The British Fashion Council, and many others.
